  1. Identify the company

Corporate number: 13 digits; a 12-digit company registration number is also accepted, also searchable by Japanese name. Names repeat; the number does not.

  2. Confirm status and address

Name, legal form and status, registered address from the official record.

  3. See who runs it

Only the representative of the company (one person in the record); no list of directors or other officers.

  4. See who owns it

Shareholders partly included; beneficial owners not public or not included.

  5. Read notices and filings

Not registry notices: approvals, subsidies, public contracts, awards and patent/trademark records from public bodies with dates; changes of name, address, status and representative are tracked by comparing the record.

  6. Screen for sanctions

Exact-name screening of the company, officers and shareholders on eight lists.
